Coelogyne celebensis: Beautiful Orchid from Celebes

This beautiful orchid has scientific name Coelogyne celebensis where celebensis is taken from its original habitat, Celebes or Sulawesi Indonesia. Coelogyne celebensis at glance similar to Coleogyne speciosa. Fairly you can't distinguish flower type between both of them. But if you see carefully, you can find vague difference at their labellum and bulges above them.

Coelogyne celebensis flower blossoms perfectly for 5-7 days. Soon, the flower become faded. But don't worry waiting so long that it soon replaced with next buds. Its stem is too thin and lean compared to its big flower. Thus, when the orchid blossoms, the stem droops. This orchid has wide oval wave-surface leaves. And like any other orchids, this orchid has peudo bulb bubbles to reserve water and foods. Therefore, this kind of orchid is sedulously blossoms and easy to adapt.
